Description

The Babies Can't Wait (BCW) Program is Georgia’s statewide early intervention system for infants and toddlers with special needs, developmental delays or disabilities, ages birth to three, and their families. Babies Can't Wait is administered through 18 District offices throughout the state of Georgia. Through the 18 offices, children and families in every county in Georgia can access early intervention services for infants and toddlers with special needs. Anyone can refer a child to Babies Can't Wait.

Goal / Mission

The goal of Babies Can't Wait is to guarantee access to early intervention services for infants and toddlers with special needs.

Results / Accomplishments

Through Babies Can't Wait, 98% of eligible children had evaluation, assessment and initial Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) within 45 days. Following assessment, 92% of infants and toddlers received IFSP services within 45 days of parent's consent to IFSP. All IFSP services are provided in natural environments (home, community).
