Mendocino Coast Children's Fund Mask Awareness project

Mendocino Coast Children's Fund, Mendocino Coast (Westport to Gualala)
We are the oldest grassroots, nonprofit advocate for low income and at risk children in Mendocino County. We began in 1992 and have been serving children for 28 years as an all volunteer effort.

The Vision of the Mendocino Coast Children's Fund is to support a community in which all children and families have the opportunity to reach their full potential in life. Our Mission is to provide funding for the unmet needs of infants and children on Mendocino's north coast.

We provide children with essentials and necessities, hopes and dreams, opportunities and activities. We are a safety net, catching children from birth through age 18 who otherwise would fall through the cracks of society's inequities. We provide our life experiences, professional backgrounds, connections to community, and ability to get things done for children in the most beneficial way possible.

We respect the dignity of all children and the privacy of all families, by working in the background to quietly provide needed resources and experiences for children.

During community tragedies and disasters, MCCF takes the lead in creating effective and accountable SOS responses to the challenge at hand whether a personal family crisis, a wildfire or a public health epidemic.

The Project
MCCF volunteers have distributed over 30,000 masks to families, essential workers, schools, non-profits, neighbors, underserved families, community churches, neighborhood associations, frontline volunteers, health providers, the homeless and elderly. As a vital partner of Mask Up Mendocino we are helping all community members have access to a variety of face coverings. The best gift we can give children is to mask up and follow the public health guidelines that protect us all.
